2020 Honda Odyssey vs 2020 Toyota Sienna

Serving Nashville, TN

If you are ready to take full advantage of the functionality of a spacious, well-appointed minivan, you may be drawn to the popular Honda Odyssey. The Odyssey was released in 1995, and it benefited from a significant refresh when its fifth generation was released in 2018. The Toyota Sienna is another popular minivan model. Its last major generational update occurred a decade ago. What are these minivans' other essential differences?

Exterior

Because of the Odyssey's recent generational update, the 2020 model has a contemporary styling that is easy on the eyes. The smooth hood makes a steep, stunning descent into the dual-bar grille with a chrome finish. One of these bars bends decadently before rolling over the LED headlights. The foglamp ports are equally stunning with chrome accents. The 2020 Odyssey's exterior may also have power-sliding side doors, a hands-free liftgate, heated side mirrors with turn signal integration, a panoramic sunroof, and other preferred items. The 2020 Sienna, on the other hand, has only received modest style updates since its last generational update. As a result, it has a classic minivan look with flat sides, a smooth hood, and the classic Toyota grille at the front end. Exterior features like LED lighting, raised roof rails, heated side mirrors, and more are offered with select trims.

Interior

The 2020 Honda Odyssey and the 2020 Toyota Sienna are 3-row minivans that deliver extreme functionality across all trim levels. The Odyssey is available in five trims, and most or all of these trims come with heated and leather seats, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Magic Slide for the second row, a rear entertainment system, an onboard vacuum, auxiliary ports, USB ports, a sound system, Bluetooth technologies, concealed storage spaces, and numerous other features. In the Sienna for 2020, you could find a sound system, aux ports, storage spaces, power windows, a push-button starter, and a few other essentials that vary dramatically across the trim line.

Safety

Most of the Odyssey's current trims are outfitted with the coveted Honda Sensing® safety technologies. Equipment in this suite includes a forward collision warning, lane keep assist, departure warning, collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and others. These are combined with gear like airbags, LATCH child safety equipment, anti-locking brakes, and more. The 2020 Sienna has Safety Sense and Star Safety features in all trims, and other equipment is only offered in a few of the Sienna trims. For example, the overhead view monitor, anti-theft system, and blind-spot monitor are available in select Sienna trims for 2020.
