When you buy a certified pre-owned car, truck, SUV, or minivan at Crest Honda, you can enjoy peace of mind that your vehicle is in great condition. Honda Certified Pre-Owned vehicles are also known as HondaTrue Certified vehicles, and here's a little more information about the certification process for these models.

Age and Mileage

Every HondaTrue Certified vehicle must meet our age and mileage requirements. Only vehicles that are no more than 5 years old and have a maximum of 80,000 miles are eligible for certification.

Inspection

Our certified mechanics thoroughly inspect every vehicle upfront. To qualify for our Certified Pre-Owned program, each vehicle must pass a detailed 182-point inspection.

The 182-point vehicle inspection covers mechanical and appearance aspects. This includes the drivetrain, suspension, steering, brakes, wheels, tires, exhaust, interior and exterior.

Reconditioning and Maintenance

If any repairs need to be performed or parts need to be replaced to meet our high standards, we use genuine Honda parts.

Our mechanics also ensure these vehicles are up-to-date on maintenance services during this process.

What's the Difference Between a HondaTrue Certified Vehicle and a HondaTrue Used Vehicle?

When shopping for your pre-owned Honda, you will notice both HondaTrue Used and HondaTrue Certified vehicles. In both tiers, you will find quality vehicles that have been well-engineered and manufactured with quality in mind.

However, HondaTrue Certified vehicles have no more than 80,000 miles on the odometer and are no more than 5 years old. In addition, HondaTrue Certified vehicles have a 7-year/100,000-mile limited warranty.

HondaTrue Used vehicles have no mileage limit and may be up to 10 years old. Limited warranty coverage for HondaTrue Used vehicles is good for 5,000 miles or 100 days (whichever comes first). This coverage begins after the New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires or from the time of your purchase date if it's already expired.

You will benefit from roadside assistance and trip interruption coverage with both tiers. HondaTrue Certified vehicles come with two free oil changes during your first 12,000 miles or first year of ownership. For HondaTrue Used vehicles, one free oil change is offered during the first year of ownership.

What is Covered?

The limited warranty coverage offered with HondaTrue vehicles extends to powertrain and non-powertrain features and systems. If covered components are defective or lack performance due to poor workmanship, they are replaced or repaired. No deductible applies.

Powertrain Coverage

Your HondaTrue Certified vehicle's powertrain is covered for 7 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the vehicle's original in-service date.

Your HondaTrue Used vehicle's powertrain is covered for 100 days or 5,000 miles.

This coverage includes the:

Non-Powertrain Coverage

HondaTrue Certified vehicles receive up to 2 additional years of non-powertrain coverage from the original warranty expiration date or from the time of purchase if it's already expired. This additional coverage lasts up to the time the vehicle has 100,000 miles.

Non-powertrain coverage for HondaTrue Used vehicles lasts for 100 days or 5,000 miles.

Available for 2 years beginning at the expiration of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, or from the date of sale of the vehicle if the New Vehicle Limited Warranty has expired at the time of sale, or up to 100,000 total odometer miles, whichever occurs first. 6. Complimentary service begins on the date of vehicle delivery or after the expiration of the New Vehicle Honda Service Pass, whichever occurs later.

The 3-day exchange policy allows the customer to exchange the vehicle purchased for another Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (HondaTrue Certified or HondaTrue Used) in the dealer's inventory. The returned vehicle must be in the same condition as when it left the dealership and may have no more than 300 miles over the mileage shown as of the date of purchase.

10. The Honda Certified Limited Warranty is part of a complete package that is only available with the sale of an inspected and reconditioned, certified pre-owned vehicle. All costs associated with such inspection, reconditioning, and certification are not subject to separate charge or fee; instead, all such costs are included in the advertised and actual purchase price of the Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle.
